Increase in Mileage Rates The mileage rate for the use of privately owned vehicles while on official business increased to 50.5 cents per mile, effective March 19, 2008.  This rate applies to Court Staff, Jurors, Witnesses, Interpreters and CJA Panel Attorneys.

Increase in CJA Attorney Fees

The CJA Panel Attorney hourly compensation rate for non-capital cases has been increased from $94.00 to $100.00; and the maximum hourly rate for capital cases has been increased from $166.00 to $170.00 for services provided on or after January 1, 2008.

Amendments to Federal Court Rules

Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure will become effective December 1, 2007, absent action by Congress to reject, modify or deter them. Access to the Amendments of these Rules may be found at www.uscourts.gov/rules/index.html.

Included in the Amendments are restyled Illustrative Civil Rules Forms and restyled Appellate Rules Forms. Increase in Transcript Fees

The Judicial Conference of the United States has approved a ten percent increase to the maximum page rates for transcript orders received on or after October 18, 2007. In addition, the Judicial Conference has created a new rate for the delivery of transcripts within 14 days. Click here to view the Order adopting these increased rates.

2008 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference Information

Please mark your calendars for the 2008 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois, August 11-15, 2008.
