The U. S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Information Technology Support Specialist. The Information Technology Support Specialist provides administrative and technical support to the court in a wide range of areas. They perform routine troubleshooting and support for end user activities. Incumbents also provide technical support in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hard-ware and software programs. Information Technology Support Specialists perform routine network administration as well as more complex network administration duties, including developing standards, recommending network infra-structure change, and coordinating and implementing network security measures.

Chief Deputy Clerk

The United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas is accepting applications for a Chief Deputy Clerk. The Western District of Arkansas serves 34 counties located primarily in the western half of the state. The court is headquartered in Fort Smith and has staffed divisional offices in El Dorado, Fayetteville, and Texarkana as well as an unstaffed office in Hot Springs.
The Chief Deputy Clerk is a professional, managerial position responsible for the day-to-day administration and supervision of operations and various administrative functions of the Clerk of Court's office. The Chief Deputy reports directly to the Clerk of Court and assists the Clerk with supervision, planning, developing, and implementing office policies, procedures and programs, and managing the Court's operations.

Term Law Clerk to U. S. Magistrate Judge

The United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas is seeking a full‐time term law clerk position to a U. S. Magistrate Judge in El Dorado, AR. This position is anticipated to cover a one-year term, though may be extended at the discretion of the successful applicant and the Judge for an additional period not to exceed a total of four years. Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Research substantive issues of federal and state law;
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and orders;
  • Analyze statutes, regulations, and substantive issues in all areas of civil and criminal law;
  • Perform case management and other administrative desk duties;
  • Provide legal counsel and support to the judge; and
  • Exhibit the highest standards of excellence and integrity.
